Xavier Polycarpe's bubbly new summer jam 'Simple As Can Be' feels right on time as we enter these peak months of sunshine.
With this being Xavier's first solo album after producing music with the bands Gush and Macadam Crocodile, we wanted to catch up with him to learn more about 'Simple As Can Be' and find out what else he has in store for 2021.
Can you present your project (its history, its influences...) ?
I'm going solo after a band career with Gush and in parallel with my other band Macadam Crocodile.
Can you tell us about your release Simple as Can Be?
I wanted to release this sunny track that talks about spring, the renewal of life, before summer. It also happens to be on the soundtrack of Cyril Dion's next movie, Animal, for which I co-composed the music and which will be released on Nov 24th, 2021.
What does it mean for you to be an independent artist today?
It means to take your own business in hand, which allows you to have control over the different steps, but it also means to develop a know-how other than music, to build a company, etc..
What are your future projects?
To release more tracks for my solo project and eventually an album in 2022 and release the soundtrack of the movie Animal (written with Sebastien Hoog)
